Why Study Integrative Arts at Goucher?
The Integrative Arts Studies Program allows students to develop intellectually, creatively, and artistically beyond the boundaries of traditional art majors. Working closely with faculty mentors, integrative arts studies students choose their own paths to becoming the kind of interdisciplinary artist they imagine themselves within the creative economy. If you are still discovering the kind of artist you want to be, or if you want to work across multiple disciplines, then this major is for you.
LearnWhat Will You Learn?
What Will You Learn?
Integrative arts studies students will demonstrate their individual and collective agency while learning how varied art forms relate to one another within an entrepreneurial orientation. A core of classes engages students in collaborative studio work, challenges them to use art as a means for social change, demonstrates how they can become an entrepreneur/freelancer artist, and many others. With this foundation, integrative arts studies students finesse one or two disciplines by concentrating and/or minoring in of the following: music, theatre, dance, creative writing, arts management, visual and material culture, digital arts, and/or studio art.
